NI-RESIST Multistage Centrifugal Pumps consist of multiple stages of housing rotating impellers and stationary diffusers. The pressure energy changes as the liquid being pumped surrounds the impeller, and the impeller rotates and moves the liquid. The diffuser changes some of the high-velocity energy into pressure energy.
Due to the limited well casing diameter of most applications, the head developed by an individual stage is relatively low. Stages must be stacked together to meet the lift requirements for various applications. By changing the number of vanes, geometry, and diameter of the impeller and diffuser, different flow rates can be achieved.
A centrifugal pump should be operated within the recommended capacity range. If operated outside its designated rate, the pump can go into up or down thrust, which may result in excessive wear of the thrust washers. These ranges vary with different pumps.
Standard construction includes Ni-Resist impellers and diffusers with dual pad (Synthane) up-thrust wear pads. Standard on the pumps is tungsten carbide upper and lower bearings located in the intake base and discharge head. The highly abrasive-resistant tungsten carbide bearings provide critical lateral support in gas and oil well applications.
These oilfield submersible pumps are stacked in a compression-type configuration which allows for close tolerances which are very good for mild abrasives and provides enhanced down-thrust support. This down-thrust support allows for extended low flow operating ranges of the unit. The pump shafts on these units are hardened stainless steel construction. These oilfield submersible pumps are the answer for today’s lifting applications.
