Teflon twisted motor leads

The construction of this cable exceeds the parameters of UL Standard44 that covers deep well submersible pump cables. The individual primary wires utilize an extruded, heavy wall ETFE or FEP fluoropolymer which meets the requirements of National Electrical Code 310, table 310-13 for type ZW.

ZW wire is suitable for use in wet locations, at 90°C. ETFE/FEP insulated cables are extremely rugged with excellent resistance to cut-through and abrasion. ETFE/FEP are chemically inert and have low permeability. They are unaffected by typical acids, bases, solvents and cleaning agents and fuels.

ETFE/FEP is flame retardant and non-propagating, and passes IEEE 383 and UL Vertical Tray Flame Test, UL 1581 at 70,000 BTU/HR, and ICEA T29-520 210,000 BTU/HR. ETFE/FEP is rated “non-burning” under ASTM D635. It is rated for 150°C (302°F) conductor operator temperature for continuous use and retains all useful physical properties at temperatures to -100°C (-148°F).

ETFE is a radiation resistant dielectric and meets or exceeds all requirements of IEEE 383 and 323. Low surface friction provides easy installation. Due to the physical and electrical characteristics of FEP/ETFE, the cables insulated with these materials stand a very good chance of outliving the life expectancy of the pump to which it is attached.
